New… Now… What’s Next?
March theme — That’s How We’ve Never Done It. Week 4 — New… Now… What’s Next?
Affirmation: Grounded in Truth, I step forward into ever greater Good.
We’re awakening in a new way to the Truth that we’re bigger than we thought we were. We’re stepping into our identity as divine-humans - God’s experience and expression of Itself in/through/as us. Now what are we going to do about it?
Our guest speaker this week was our very own Founding Minister, now the Centers for Spiritual Living Spiritual Leader, Rev. Dr. Soni Cantrell-Smith. Rev Soni reminded us that as we deepen in this teaching, we notice our focus evolving from “getting” to “having” to “being.” The wholeness of God, the love of God, the givingness of God is not only available to us, it’s who and what we are! A Truth that big cannot just sit inside us; it must be expressed outward into the world. What Emerson termed “divine discontent” pushes us into inner commitment and outer action. The rapidly changing landscape of our world and all of its systems (natural, cultural, social, political…) constantly reminds us that many old patterns of thought and behavior no longer serve us. New situations demand new creativity, new teachability, new vision. Spirit invites us to open our minds and hearts to our new next step. We lean into the open question - “What is mine to do?” – and then commit to acting upon its answer!
“Now, we must open up the doors of our consciousness and expand and expand and expand, and no longer think in terms of the backyard lot but in the terms of the infinite nature… of the universe.” ~ Ernest Holmes, Love and Law p.15.3
“Not only is there an activity of mind and spirit ready, but it is surging forward with tremendous power. The seed that grows in the crevice in the wall has power to burst the wall.” ~ Ernest Holmes, Love and Law p.138.2
“Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.” ~ Will Rogers.
AHA moments from members:
Everything starts and ends with our belief in ourselves.
Be willing to take the leap of faith in yourself, willing to make mistakes. The Universe supports us in our beliefs.
The Universe always says “YES!”, but do we always say yes to it?
